I am delighted to be relaunching my Community Action Fund, with £150,000 of funding recovered from criminals being made available to reinvest into our neighbourhoods throughout Lancashire.
Since I first established the fund in 2013, grants have been provided to 236 projects and 2018/19 was our biggest year yet, with over £110,000 going into communities across the county to help groups tackle local concerns and deliver my key priorities in my Police and Crime Plan, with the latest report highlighting the successes throughout the year.
We are looking to build on that this year – local people have great ideas that can make a real, measurable difference in their areas and I have seen first-hand how relatively small amounts of investment can have a really positive impact.
We have seen how activity tackles crime and reoffending, supports vulnerable people and also builds strong, confident communities whilst often helping alleviate some of the pressures on officers and other emergency services.
