Keyworker Homes has shared details of revised proposals to redevelop the site following feedback from the community.
The firm shared details of their revised proposals for the redevelopment of Garstang Business Centre with Wyre Council and Garstang Town Council in a meeting earlier this week.
Leader of Wyre Council, Councillor Peter Gibson, said: “Wyre’s Chief Executive and I have had a very positive meeting with Garstang ward councillors, the Town Council and Keyworker Homes.
“The new proposals take into account the views of both the council and residents, and everyone seemed enthusiastic about them. There were no plans to build flats on the car park and sufficient public parking would be retained including long stay parking, an issue which has been raised by residents.
“When a planning application is submitted to the council in the coming months, members of the community will have an opportunity to comment on the final proposals, before the planning committee makes a decision.”
Garstang Business Centre and High Street car park are both listed as assets of community value and as such are currently in a moratorium period which prevents the council from disposing of them. This does not however prevent proposals for the site from being discussed or planning permission being sought.
