It’s time for you to have your say on the publication draft Wyre local plan.
The publication draft Wyre local plan, which sets out the planning strategy for the borough until 2031, was considered at a meeting of full council earlier this month and approved for public consultation.
The plan sets out detailed policies for the management of development, including the allocation of land for residential and employment developments. The consultation begins on Friday 22 September and will end on Friday 3 November.
Comments received at this stage on the draft local plan, must relate to legal compliance, the duty to cooperate and the ‘soundness’ of the plan. ‘Soundness’ relates to four factors; if it is positively prepared, justified, effective and consistent with national policy.
We have published a guidance note which will assist you in completing the consultation and explain the four factors of soundness. You can view the guidance here www.wyre.gov.uk/localplan.
Once the six week consultation period has ended on Friday 3 November, the council will work towards submitting the plan to the government for public examination. Responses will be made available to a planning inspector to give them an understanding of local issues.
