We are humbled to see our communities already pulling together in response to the Coronavirus outbreak and we are working hard as a council to protect our residents, in particular those who are elderly, vulnerable or isolated. We are facing an unprecedented situation and want to make sure our communities are supported.
As such we are looking to pull together information about all the great work that is already taking place to see how we can best support this and to point those needing help in the right direction.
We are asking community groups and organisations who are offering support to local people, or who would like to help out in some way to let us know who they are and what they are doing/would like to do. It could include help with shopping, making phone calls, sending post or addressing other essential needs.
We are asking groups and organisations to complete this short Together We Make a Difference form, as soon as is possible during the week commencing 23 March 2020.
We know that well-meaning individuals are offering help locally, which is wonderful, but at the moment we are only collating information about support that is endorsed from a group/organisation who have records of their volunteer/staff details.
We thank you for your assistance with distribution of this link and ask if you can forward to organised local organisations and groups as appropriate. It’s possible some may receive it twice but better that than not at all.
We are also working with Lancashire County Council, and the Our Lancashire and Lancashire Volunteer Partnership teams and will share relevant information we collect with them.
